With a market cap of $30.1 billion, NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG) is a leading energy and home services provider serving customers across the United States and Canada. On July 21, NRG Energy’s Board of Directors announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.44 per share on its common stock, translating to an annualized payout of $1.76 per share. The dividend will be paid on August 15 to shareholders of record as of August 1. Following the announcement, NRG shares surged over 5% in the next two trading sessions.

Moreover, analysts remain very bullish about NRG stock’s prospects, with a "Strong Buy" rating overall. Among 12 analysts covering the stock, nine recommend a “Strong Buy” and three recommend a “Hold.” NRG’s mean price of $167.09 implies a premium of 4.1% from its prevailing price level.
